I do love eclipses. They only come around every so often and I don’t always get the chance to view them. I was fortunate enough to be able to photograph the eclipse we had last night (May 20, 2012.) It was the “Ring of Fire” eclipse. The last time we were able to view this particular eclipse was 1994. I put together a gallery of photos of my vantage point in Wyoming. I used a welding helmet over my camera lens to capture the moment. We didn’t have the full “Ring of Fire”, but it was still neat. We were also treated to another beautiful sunset.

Great pictures!
Thank you!
My son and I were out with our welding helmets, too – we got great views from our yard. I didn’t know I could have been taking pictures… DRAT!
It was so much fun. We had a little viewing party here. I heard on June 5th Venus is supposed to pass between the Earth and the Sun. I don’t know what kind of view that will bring, but I hope we will be able to see it, too.
Cool pictures and I love all the shots you were able to capture. Thanks for sharing a piece of nature’s beauty with your camera.
I love this photos! Too bad I haven’t seen the eclipse. It is too cloudy.
