He gives me so many reasons to be proud of him (except for his room…and trash…and (just kidding.)
Montana participates in DECA at his high school. For those of you that don’t know what DECA is: “It prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in marketing, finance, hospitality and management in high schools and colleges around the globe.” (From www.deca.org) He is a Wyoming state officer and traveled to Seattle for a leadership conference where he had to give a speech in front of about 2500 people. That’s more people than the population of most towns in Wyoming!
Here is a picture of him giving that speech. (It’s a little grainy, I downloaded it from another site.)
He told me that they will be having dinner in the Space Needle tonight!
The DECA experience has been amazing for him. Not only does he have the best advisers in the world, but he has been able to travel and soak up the experiences of meeting new people and seeing new places. He has been to Louisville, KY, Washington D.C., Orlando, FL, Salt Lake City, UT, Seattle, WA, and in April, he will be going to Anaheim, CA. His advisers make sure that the kids see the culture that each city has to offer as well as their leadership skill building.
Montana, I am just so proud of everything you have accomplished so far and I know that your high school experience has only scratched the surface of where you will go. 🙂
WOW! I didn’t know he was giving a speach. Good for him. Dinner at the Space Needle is very fun.
He said he really liked the Space Needle.
Wow, very impressive. What a proud Mama you must be!! Good going Montana!
Thanks Holly! He had a great time.
Congrats to your son. He’s going to love the Space Needle. I’ve been there several times and it’s always an amazing trip up the elevator. Then there’s that unbelievable view from up there.
Thanks Cindy! He did have a great time.
Congrats to your son Montana (love that name!). That’s quite an honor, being a state officer and giving a speech at the leadership conference. I can tell you are just bursting with love and pride for him! 🙂 What a wonderful experience for him to travel with the leadership group. I see great things in his future!
He is making all of us proud! Krissy & TJ you are great parents
