So, we ended up getting about six inches from this storm. As far as I can tell anyway. The wind decided to rear it’s ugly head and blow it into drifts (that always seem to form right next to my car door.) I digress…normally, six inches isn’t enough to brag about, but we are so far below our average snow fall. This was a welcome sight.
Last year, 2012, we had the worst drought in 118 years! There were several fires in this area and I am worried that this year may be shaping up to be the same way. I feel like we have an invisible force field over us to prevent any moister from falling from the sky. I wonder if we tried a snow-dance (kinda like a rain-dance?) Or not. That might scare away all the pretty wildlife. Besides, I am saving that dance for my daughter’s wedding. What good is a party if you can’t embarrass your kids.
Anyway, I took some pictures of the snow. Unfortunately, it was after the wind had blown most of it away. Hope you enjoy them. “May the force be with us.”
stunning photos
beautiful photographs though now I’m cold!
Thanks, Tony! But, I would take the cold over the San Antonio heat and humidity any day. lol!
Thank you!
So pretty. Love that wide open sky.
Thanks Kris! I really love the wide open sky, too. I love to be able to see for many miles.
You live in such a beautiful part of the world – I love that barbed wire fence shot, especially. I would share some of our snow if I could – we’re about shovelled out, up here. It’s been an unusually windy/stormy/snowy/foggy/treacherous highways kind of winter. Blech. Here’s to a swift and sure spring – and many April showers for you folks!
Thanks Melody! I know that you live in a beautiful part of the world, too!
So good to hear you received some snow. Love the photos you shared as it’s so wide open compared to up here in the mountains. It’s always fun to see other people’s surroundings.
Thank you and I agree. I like to see pictures from other people’s surroundings, too. There are so many beautiful places to see.
Beautiful landscape photos, Kristina! But, yes, you need more snow in Wyoming. I don’t blame you for being worried about wildfires from a drought. May the force be with you and let it snow! 🙂
Thanks, Madilyn! This week looks promising for a few more inches. We have a chant that our TV weatherman came up with. It’s BUS, BUS, BUS. (Bring Us Snow!) lol!
Wow such an amazing place, i want to be there with my family,
Beautiful pictures 🙂
Thank you!
Love the photos! I’m sure it’s still snowy there. Snowing here today. I’m ready for spring.
BTW, I’m working on some Casper scenes in my novel. What are some “smells” of the area, especially out, closer to the foothills of the Casper Mountain. Autumn smells.
Very nice photographs, Kristina 🙂
great post
Hi, Kristina….May I use one or two of your snow photos as a projection during the opening scenes of an upcoming production of “The Quilters?” This is for a community theater group. The play is about a pioneer woman and her daughters and, using quilt blocks, tells little stories from their lives. In the beginning, the Mom talks about life on the prairie living in a dugout and dealing with snow storms and dust storms. The theater is very small and I’d like to have projections going on with the kinds of scenes she is talking about. If you like the idea, please let me know. If you want us to name you in the program, we could do that.
The show opens on April 1.
Hi Maggie! I received this comment in my email so I replied to you there. Please let me know if you received it. Thank you!
