The answer to that question is apparently “yes.” It’s not the first time Casper has seen snow in September. In fact, you really need to be prepared for the white stuff every month of the year.
Today, I received about 4″ of very heavy, wet snow which has mostly melted into lovely mud. Before the melting occurred, I was able to take some pictures of antelope and our neighbors horses enjoying the weather.
Normally the antelope don’t stay in one place long enough to photograph. I don’t think these antelope knew I was there. I was crouched by the fence line taking pictures of snow when they wandered into view.
the snow in sept is amazing though your photos are more
Awe, that’s so sweet! Thank you! 🙂
Great shots. We just got out of Wyoming that day! It’s warm here in KC.
Thanks Holly! What good timing you had. 🙂
The snow pictures were fun to see but I hope you keep that snow there. I’m just not ready for snow yet, I’d rather wait until at least late November.
Hi Cindy! Apparently the snow decided to stay here. We are expecting 12″+ Thursday into Friday and next week too. I was kinda hoping for the snow to start in November, too! Maybe you’ll have better luck than me. 🙂
Wow, snow in September? Is that normal for Casper? You really got some great shots of the horses and antelope; so majestic against the snowy backdrop.
Hi Kris! It isn’t normal to get snow in September, but it’s not impossible. The last time was 4 years ago. We are expecting 12″+ this Thursday into Friday! I try to be ready for snow every month of the year, but you really hope it stays away until at least November. 🙂
