On top of Casper Mountain there is a quaint park called Crimson Dawn. There you can find a tour of shrines dedicated to the Enchanted Witches and other characters from the pages of Neal Forsling’s book, Crimson Dawn.
This is where Neal and her husband Jim are buried.
You can see some of the trees starting to turn yellow. I kinda thought they would have had more color, so I’ll have to check again in a couple of weeks. Oh, what a chore.
Here is the pond. Whew, all the politicians can breathe a sigh of relief in this election year because it’s all dried up (thanks to the drought.)
Hi, Tin Man here. Could you spare a little oil?
This episode was brought to you by the number 5.
Very fun and well put together post showing this culture and folklore. My WIP’s setting is in Casper. Loved this.
Thanks, Holly! That means a lot coming from you. I can’t wait to read your book when it is published.
Kristina, I had never heard about this, so interesting! Well, being Italian (my maternal grandparents literally came over on the boat from Sicily) I am somehow not surprised that the Cardinal Witch and Topaz Witch came to Crimson Dawn from Italy, a land of Old World mystical tales and superstitions. I bet all these witch tales are based on real people, of course exaggerated, but I find it all so fascinating. LOL about how politicians avoid The Truth Pond on Midsummer’s Eve! (Oh please, let’s send the candidates there…lol!) And Bambi’s Castle, a nice sanctuary! Thanks for sharing these stories and fantastic photos! I would love to visit there one day.
When does this open?
