My daughter and I went up to the Bridle trail at Rotary Park (near the base of Casper Mountain.) We wanted to walk the trail and take a peak at the fall colors. She had been on the trail before and was apparently aware of how steep some of the terrain was. She failed to mention this to me. I quickly realized how out-of-shape I was (and still am.) It’s a good thing that there are large boulders along the trail because I think I sat on all of them. I used the excuse, “I need to take some pictures of this view.” in order to stop and rest. I think she caught on to what I was doing, but humored me anyway.
The trail is actually about 4 1/2 miles long and winds around the Falls. I can’t actually attest to this because… I think we only went about 1 mile of it. What I did see sure was pretty. Hope you think so , too!
Going up!
View of Casper
Is anyone home?
Wish I’d seen this sign before I went up the trail. lol!
I wonder if the owner of this shoe missed the sign, too?
Absolutely gorgeous. Just the sort of trail I love. In the Adirondacks, where my family used to vacation, we’d see bears quite often. They always seemed completely bored by the sight of humans and would just lollygag (at a safe distance) right past us.
Wow! I, thankfully, have not had the pleasure of seeing a bear here.
Beautiful photos! Totally enjoyed this post!
Thank you Holly!
Beautiful!!!
Thank you Angie!
Great pics of a place I love to hike. But it takes 2 hours!
Thank you Michele! I want to do it again and maybe hike the whole trail next time. Maybe we could meet up and go together?
Great photos and I love all the Autumn colors. So pretty and I enjoyed seeing all the sites through your photography.
Thank you Cindy!
Such beautiful scenery easily lends itself to trekking or boulder-sitting; there, don’t you feel better? I love seeing the silvery-barked birch trees…we don’t have them here. Reminds me of Kansas and the forests in southern Poland. Did you see any bears?
I feel much better now. Thank you! I did not see any bears (whew!) 🙂
What a beautiful trail! I love your excuse for resting on the large boulders by saying you needed to take pictures. That’s a good one! I want to remember that one to use it myself next time I go hiking…LOL! I am much more out of shape than I was years ago when we lived in San Francisco and I walked steep hills every day. I miss that exercise! These are great photos and I especially love the close up of the leaves and pinecones! Glad you didn’t see any bears!!! 🙂
