My daughter, Shelby, and her boyfriend of three years, Kyle, have set a date to get married! Originally, they were thinking of a September wedding, but decided to move it up to March 30th to coincide with a trip they were planning on taking. They will now use this trip as their honeymoon. That works, except for the fact that mom (me!) now has to have all the planning and decorations complete in a shorter amount of time. All I can say is thank goodness for Pinterest!
They are wanting to have an outside wedding. That’s right, we live in Wyoming and the wedding is March 30th. Did I mention that we live in Wyoming? Definitely have to have a plan B or maybe even a plan C! Luckily, I have a great brother-in-law and sister-in-law that have a large barn by our property.
Here are some of the decorations that I have been working on. The theme is sunflower and Batman with some steam punk thrown in. (Quite a combination, right?) The colors are yellow, gray, black, and white.
Here is her bouquet:
Bridesmaid’s bouquets and toss bouquet:
The mother’s corsages:
The groom’s, groomsmen, and father’s boutonnieres:
Custom napkin rings:

And no party would be complete without a disco ball! My husband made this out of the metal he had leftover from making the chandeliers (picture of the chandeliers to come later.)
This will be a very DIY wedding and reception so hopefully the things that I have planned in my mind all work out and equate to a beautiful, fun time! After all, my mind can be a crazy place.
I love the sunflower theme, Kristina. So warm and inviting. Looks like you’ve made significant headway! Maybe you guys can rent a couple of those outdoor heaters to ward away March’s chill. Congratulations on becoming a mom-in-law. I look forward to seeing wedding pix in a couple of months.
Sunflower and Batman! 🙂 I didn’t realize the wedding was so soon. Ky thought it was next year.
Weddings are very fun. Not that I want to be planning any in the near future.
Love love love all of it!! 🙂
Thank you!
