If you are into quirky roadside attractions like me, then you will love the Cadillac Ranch just outside of Amarillo, Texas! Well, it’s not really a traditional ranch, but more like an art installation.
It was a bright, sunshiny day, albeit a little windy for spray paint. But, I’m from Wyoming, so it wasn’t anything I couldn’t handle. (Anyone who has been to Wyoming will know what I mean. LOL!) I was amazed at how many spray paint cans and their caps were strewn about (reminded me of my house during some of my crazy DIY projects! HaHa!) I heard that when the Cadillacs had to be moved in 1997, due to a growing population, they brought all the paint cans that were laying around and scattered them around the new location. You can kinda see the debris in my pictures.
So, graffiti and littering? Apparently, it is encouraged here. So bring your spray paint and leave your mark on one of these iconic cars. You’ll want to take a picture of your art quickly, because it definitely won’t last long with so many people visiting from all over the world!
My dad and uncle worked at Cadillac for 35 and 40 years. Thy’d be so sad to see their sweat and blood production be treated so shabbily.
